No visitors or mail please.
The Friends have no access to, or control of, the building, which is currently only partially in use, as a slot machine lounge by Merkur Casino UK.
The freehold has been sold to Ruach City Church; the original headlease held by Mecca Bingo (Top Rank) has been cancelled; and Merkur’s original lease has been replaced.
The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre is a volunteer-run charity campaigning to save this ‘sleeping beauty’ for the benefit of the community.
We are registered in England as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Number CE024993 and Registered Charity Number 1193643.
We are members of NCVO ncvo.org.uk

Trustee: David Harvey
Business and Technology Consultant,
Freelance Theatre Production Services
David has two overlapping careers. One started in IT systems development, and developed into business and technology consulting. Another began in behind-the-scenes entertainment technology, leading to supporting theatre productions and events.
Now primarily retired from business consulting, he is focused on the production services role. He has a space for rehearsals and photoshoots at Vinters in Streatham, and provides services to theatres such as London’s Jermyn Street Theatre.
In 2013, David was the founding Chairman of Streatham Theatre Company (STC), our local open-access theatre company, which first performed for the Streatham Festival that year, in a pop-up theatre space in a foyer at Streatham Hill Theatre (SHT). That began his long relationship with that venue, helping stage more STC shows there until 2017.
When bingo closed at SHT in 2017, David kicked off the campaign to save the building for the benefit of the community, and is now Chairman and Trustee of The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre.
David is a European Engineer, Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Practitioner.
