Streatham Festival 2021

Streatham Festival logo

We are pleased to be taking part in this year’s Streatham Festival with a ‘Treasure Hunt‘ around Streatham Hill, and an online Imaginarium!

Saturday 16th October at 2pm: bring your team of up to 6 people and meet promptly outside the former Streatham Hill Theatre (aka the Bingo Hall) 110 Streatham Hill, SW2 4RD. Be finished with your answers by 4pm for marking and prizes! This is an outdoor event involving walking so please dress accordingly.

The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre’s fun and FREE ‘TREASURE HUNT’ takes a sideways look at the area around the former Streatham Hill Theatre (latterly a Bingo Hall).

Follow the route and collect ‘treasure’ by solving the clues – cryptic, factual, historical and silly! Take a stroll, keep your eyes open, and at the same time discover all sorts of interesting things about the Streatham Hill area, the Theatre and the Friends campaign.

Why not bring your family and friends to form a team of up to 6 people? Suitable for all the family, the route covers an area centred on Streatham Hill Theatre, from Streatham Hill Station in the south and Pullman Court in the north.

Just turn up, there’s no charge, and there will be prizes, kindly donated by the local business below!

The trail has been compiled by London Blue Badge Tourist Guide JOY LEVENE. A lover of all things theatrical and literary, she specialises in Walking Tours London-wide, in every Borough, including a number of charity Treasure Hunts. She has a life-time experience in amateur dramatics, as performer and director, and ran a children’s drama club.

ONLINE

Explore the Streatham Hill Theatre’s amazing heritage and imagine potential amazing futures!

As we don’t have access to the theatre itself, The Friends had planned a pop-up space in a disused shop front in Streatham Hill. Unfortunately for us, but really great for the high road, the empty shops are being rapidly reoccupied so we’ve not been able to secure a physical space.

Therefore we have moved our Imaginarium online. On our website you will be able to see exhibitions of photos, view videos and see presentations, covering the heritage of Streatham Hill Theatre, and concerning its future. And you will have the chance to contribute to visions for that future!

You can enter the Imaginarium here.
