We are pleased to be taking part in this year’s Streatham Festival with the following activities.
The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre are organising a fun ‘TREASURE HUNT’ taking a sideways look at the area twixt Streatham Hill Station and the former Streatham Hill Theatre (latterly a Bingo Hall).
Follow the route and collect ‘treasure’ by solving the clues – cryptic, factual, historical and silly!
Why not bring your friends, form a team, take a stroll and find out more about the Theatre and the Friends campaign at the same time?
There’s no charge and there will be prizes, kindly donated by the local business below! Check back here nearer the time for full details, or join our mailing list to receive regular updates.
The trail has been compiled by London Blue Badge Tourist Guide JOY LEVENE. A lover of all things theatrical and literary, she specialises in Walking Tours London-wide, in every Borough, including a number of charity Treasure Hunts. She has a life-time experience in amateur dramatics, as performer and director, and ran a children’s drama club.
Explore the Streatham Hill Theatre’s amazing heritage and imagine potential amazing futures!
As we don’t have access to the theatre itself, The Friends plan a pop-up space in a disused shop front in Streatham Hill. There we will run a series of exhibitions, talks and discussions concerning the future of the Streatham Hill Theatre, where you will have the chance to contribute to visions for that future.
The final programme of activities, dates and times, together with the pop-up location will be announced nearer the time.
