Interference with Foundation Stone Plaque
There has been some interference with the historic external foundation stone laying plaque. A steel plate has been fixed by unscrewing the plaque fixings at the left hand end and inserting the plate. It has numbers which may relate to ongoing TfL works on Streatham Hill?
The right hand end has been loose for some time.
This interference greatly increases the risk of theft or loss,
Update: 1st December 2026: The steel plate is now removed but the fixings are no longer holding the plaque in place and it appears bent.
Update: This has been reported to Lambeth planning enforcement on 16 January 2026.
Security screws should have been fitted to prevent any theft. Who is responsible for this loss – Ruach as the property owner or the Council for having failed to act on the warnings given? Or both?
